Lake Oconee Dermatology
Lake Oconee is a man-made lake built in 1980 by the Georgia Power Company. Measuring approximately 19,050 acres, it is the second largest lake in Georgia. Unlike other natural or man-made bodies of water, Lake Oconee is solely devoted for purposes of power generation. The lake’s length and narrowness maximizes its ability to produce water current.
Lake Oconee is shrouded in mystery due to its native history. According to legends, the Creek Indians used to live somewhere near a river that they believed to have some restorative powers. Because of this, they called the river “Okoni” which means “great waters”. The water that runs through Okoni supposedly forms a part of the lake now known as Lake Oconee.
Lake Oconee is now a prime real estate area. Its high property value can be attributed to these two main factors: the environmentally friendly local policies implemented by its developers and the strict adherence to them by both locals and tourists. Residents, investors, and visitors are enticed by its highly touted peninsula lifestyle composed of clean and green surroundings, breathtaking scenes, water sports, golf courses, and rustic and romantic cabins.
Aside from golf and fishing, Lake Oconee is also known as a wellness haven. High caliber health practitioners flock the area to offer quality health care ranging from urgent health care issues to dermatology and cosmetic surgery. It hosts several medical centers, which offer the latest technologies when it comes to medical care. Among the roster of medically advanced health care centers are as follows: The Boswell Memorial Hospital, Putnam General Hospital, Cowles Clinic, and the MCG or Medical College of Georgia Medical Associates. The Cowles Clinic is becoming world renowned for the care it provides and its extraordinary executive health program.
