Hair Transplants

Men and women have struggled with hair loss for ages and there are a myriad of formulas and concoctions that have been devised to take advantage of our frustration with hair loss. Unfortunately, most of these do not work.  There are several medical therapies that have been shown to improve hair loss and these are the baseline of any treatment. After ruling out other systemic causes for hair loss, some patients may be candidates for hair transplant patient surgery. Hair transplantation has advanced incredibly in recent years.

We all have seen the “dolls hair” appearing hair transplants performed in the 70’s and 80’s, which leave little doubt that a transplant has been performed. Today at Georgia Skin Cancer & Aesthetic Dermatology we use only mini- and micro- grafts, which often consist of a single follicular unit to create a natural appearing hairline.  We will devise a personalized treatment program for you that best suits your hair replacement wants and needs. We do not believe in the “cookie cutter” approach of many hair replacement clinics and know that a thorough knowledge of the pathophysiology of hair growth and hair loss is essential for any treating physician.
